I wish that after more than 2 decades of watching the Oscars every year, I had a better clue as to how the Academy really thinks - I'm sure some of my picks will look, in hindsight, like DUH! But that's part of the fun.

Oh for sure. I think the only year I was pretty accurate was the year Titanic won.

But the fun is totally when the Academy surprises us.

Also, there were some damn good movies this year. It's odd when I've seen most of them.

Yeah, it's one of those rare and delightful years when I've seen most of the nominated films.

It is, quite frankly, TRAGIC that you can't watch the Oscars. I wish you could come here and watch them with me! We would have lots of snacks and drinks and good times.
