a layout/template question for those in the know

How do I set my entry layout to the LJ default - for easy reading of entries and comments, even if I change my journal layout to something fancy schmancy?

And, while I'm at it - how do I change my layout to something fancy schmancy? Or just more ME than the layouts LJ lets you choose from. I've had the same layout for a long time - I like the clean lines and colors and space - but I'm thinking I want something different.

I can help with the first one.

Go to "customize theme" then "Display" then "Presentation" and under "Disable customized comment pages for your journal" click yes.

I'm sort of confused what you're looking for...

All customized layouts use default LJ layouts as a base (eg. the blurb column is on the right, you can have a static intro header, etc). It's mostly a trick of finding a customized layout that uses the default LJ layout that you like, so it's all readable and whatnot. Not every template is pretty AND easy to read/navigate. :/

Hope it helps, or I've totally missed the point of your question, haha.
